About the Producer
Jordan Perry is a Canadian music producer, composer, songwriter, drummer and audio engineer based in Montreal. Originally from Saskatoon, a small city in the middle of the country’s prairies, Jordan grew up with a seemingly instinctive predisposition for music. Experimentation with many instruments from a young age including the piano, the guitar and the trombone eventually led him to select the drums as his instrument of choice. Honing his newfound passion, Jordan played in several iconic bands in the local scene, before moving to Montreal where he would accrue a host of credentials with the metal band Derelict, including a nomination at the 2013 Canadian Independent Music Awards, chart-topping college radio airplay, a feature interview in Sick Drummer Magazine and more.
However, being “just the drummer” was never enough for Jordan. Having a natural sense of melody and a love of electronic music, he began crafting his skills in music production, while at the same time playing as the keyboardist in several bands ranging in genre from electro-pop to indie rock to instrumental prog with JUNO nominated band Mahogany Frog.
After more than a decade of the band life, Jordan eventually broke out on his own to create electronic, hip hop and pop music full time. Since launching his production company Landlocked Beats in mid 2013, he has written and produced songs for artists from all over Canada, the United States and the UK, including JUNO award winners Mystic & Miranda, SAMMY award winner Sir Magnus, and Tiffany Ponce featuring Damon Pampolina (former member of the Mickey Mouse Club and The Party). Other collaborations include electro-pop artist Randay, dream-pop outfit Loon, hiphop duo Cannonhead, prairie folk sensation Farideh, as well as Canadian pop/folk artists Tessa Kautzman, Dumb Angel and Autumn Spirit.
Though Jordan specializes in producing custom songs for solo artists, he is also a credited composer of music for TV, film and commercials, signing a deal with Montreal publishers Harris & Wolff in 2015 and most recently having a song featured on the Super Ecran TV series Marche à L’Ombre.
